Where It All Began
Lang-Lab's story began in Acapulco, Guerrero, in 1967, with an educational vision that would continue through generations.

The image corresponds to the inauguration of Lang-Lab Acapulco in 1967. Among those present are its founders, James D. Also appearing are those who would later become the founders of Lang-Lab Tijuana: Marion San Roman to the left, Gale Ahearn in the center and Isa Medina On the right. The ceremony also brought together local authorities, guests, collaborators, and people connected to Lang-Lab's early years.

A School Founded with an Educational Vision
In 1967, James D. Ahearn y María Guadalupe de Icaza They founded Lang-Lab in Acapulco, Mexico, starting a family tradition dedicated to teaching English.
From its earliest years, Lang-Lab was born with the purpose of helping its students develop knowledge and skills that they could use in their daily lives, their studies, and their professional opportunities.
Over the years, the Lang-Lab tradition would continue with a new generation and reach new communities.
A Story That Was Also Lived as a Family
For James D. Ahearn and María Guadalupe de Icaza, Lang-Lab was not separate from family life. Their own family even became part of the materials with which generations of students learned English.

From Family Life to English Books
James D. Ahearn and María Guadalupe de Icaza formed a family of 10 children while developing the Lang-Lab story.
Their families even became involved in the way they taught. Their children were turned into characters from Lang-Lab English books,bringing situations and characters inspired by his own family to the materials used by the students.
Thus, family history and school history grew together. The books were not merely academic materials: they also preserved a part of the family behind Lang-Lab.
Over time, a new generation of the family would continue the educational project and bring Lang-Lab to Tijuana.
A Story That Crossed Borders
What began in Acapulco continued to grow. Over the years, the Lang-Lab story reached new cities, new communities, and eventually the United States.

Learning English is a Process
We believe that learning English requires more than memorizing words. Students need to understand how the language works, practice it, use it, and consistently continue developing their skills.
We build a foundation to then put it into practice
Our program begins by developing a grammatical foundation and continues to give increasing importance to conversation and the practical use of English.
During classes, students have opportunities to listen, respond, converse, ask questions, and receive guidance from their teachers.
As they progress, they use what they have learned in situations related to daily life, work, and communication with other people.
